Removal of app proposals

Is there any way you could remove commonly used app proposals at the bottom of the screen? I always have three proposal to the right of the safari app. Can they all be removed or can I prevent certain apps from appearing there?

For iPadOS/iOS13.x:

Settings > Home Screen & Dock > Show Suggested and Recent Apps in Dock - switch to OFF.
