Ram for imac

I purchased a 2019 5K 27” imac. It has 2x4gb ram in slots 1 and 3. I want to upgrade ram and got 2x16gb kit. Should I put them in slots 2 and 4, or put in slots 1 and 3 and put originals in slots 2 and 4? Does it matter? Thanks

How much RAM Memory I have a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) with 8GB internal RAM. I now wish to upgrade my RAM, do I need to duplicate what is onboard already, e.g. 2x4 GB which will give me 16GB in total or can I add 2x8 GB making 24GB in total. Thanks, hope I have explained it okay Graham

All you need to do is, install the new modules in the empty slots.
