i cannot get my ipad to update. when i tried it stalled with the apple logo on the screen. I did the quick up then down button and then held the up button but the apple logo came bace after just a second or so. Help

I cannot get my ipad to update. when i tried it stalled with the apple logo on the screen. I cannot turn it off. I tried quickly pressing the up and then the down button and then holding the up button down but it would blink for a moment and then back to the frozen state. What can i do.

Make sure that you are performing the forced restart correctly and if you are but it still fails, see the other suggestions in here.
