speakers and or headphones

I must have hit something, but I can no longer hear anything from my internal speakers or my headphones. What do I do??

First try resting the NVRAM, as per > Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support


Next try another set of headphones or buds in the iMac's audio output port.


Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Sound > Output tab and check the main system volume slider.


Check the volume slider in the App or Player that you are using. (iTunes, Music, DVD player, QuickTime, YouTube, etc...)
