Trying to pair AirPods PRO but light is flashing amber (2)

After pairing issues with my new AirPods Pro (right earpiece does not connect every other time), I called Apple Service and they replaced the right AirPod. It did not solve the issue, so next time they replaced all three parts: both earpieces and the charging case.

Now I'm having troubles pairing the new set to my iPhone X (same with my iPad pro). I disconnected the old set in the BT settings and deleted them in iCloud.

The following is C&P as it is the same here: They are definitely charged but when they are in the case the light is flashing amber. When I open the case and hold them by my phone, trying to pair them normally, the animation does not show up. I saw recommendations to try to pair them one at a time. When I take out one of the airpods the light is a solid green and I can pair it easily to my phone. However, then when I put the second airpod in the case the light begins to flash amber again. I left them together in the case, like many people said, for a while but the problem was not solved. Then I unpaired that AirPod and did the other one first and the same result happened. C&P ends here

So, I called Apple Service 3rd time and they sent out a second charging case... does not solve the problem. Amber light flashes forever. I tried everything:

  • let them rest in the case for 15mins, open lid (amber flashes), press button for 5sec - nothing, light still flashes amber.
  • the same result if I press for 30sec or even 2mins - light always flashes amber.
  • taking out one earpiece: after few secs the solid green light & I can pair the single earpiece. Works for both sides.
  • I can even pair both individually, then play music and combine the output on both earpieces in the airplay settings - result is 2x mono with each one acting individually on a long-press

Please help me! Do I need to ask for my money back? I don't want to as I like them, but not as they are...

Update Dec 30st:

Went to the Apple Store and spent quite some time with an Apple Genius. She tried different things, finally went backstage and came back after 30mins, reporting "our technicians do not understand what's causing this behavior".

I was able to get my money back onto my credit card. It was transferred back the same day.

So, unless someone comes up with a counter-method I dare to say that replacing all three AirPods Pro items the same time does not work. For me it appears that it is a systematic issue.
