Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but if you have already tried: cable, USB ports, USB on a different computer, turn off antivirus, restarting your iTunes (I've just installed the latest version 12.10.3.1), restarting your iPhone... I'm clueless.

Thank you. I have also upgraded to Catalina which I didn't really want to because it stopped me using some old programmes. The only thing I haven't done is try on a Windows computer.
