So I have this MacBook 2017 that apple have deemed to expensive to repair, so they said I can open and take out the ssd from the machine, which I have done and have cleaned and made sure it works, but because this machine is broken and its an ssd, I want to try to use this through an external method. Is there anything on the market which can hold the ssd in and can be able to be read and written too?

the SSD chips are soldered in place, best you can do it backup with timemachine and reset the machine factory fresh
Do you have a MacBook or a MacBook Air? If you have a MacBook Air then you can purchase an OWC Envoy Pro Enclosure. Sometimes OWC offers used or open box items at a bit of a discount as well. While the specifications for the enclosure only mentions MBAirs from 2013-2015, I believe the 2017 will work as well since OWC does sell a kit which includes the enclosure for the original SSD. You can always contact OWC for confirmation of compatibility.
