using onedrive instead of icloud

since i have more storage with my microsoft 365, can i use my onedrive for syncing across devices instead of icloud? If so, how?

You can install OneDrive app on each of your devices and any files that you save to OneDrive can be accessed from all of the devices.
It will not sync your Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Reminders, Keychain, etc automatically from those Apple apps the way that you can do it with iCloud.

I would only like to sync my pictures and music. When I tried to transfer my system photo library, i got some specific errors in the upload. just wondering if you or anyone else have done it?
I have used it for a few individual photos but not for my Photo Library or for music.
