HDCP Error While Using Netflix/Hulu/Disney +

While using an Apple TV, I'm getting the error "This video can't be played, It looks like your HDMI cable or connection doesn't support HDCP, which is required to play this type of video. Try reconnecting the HDMI cable from Apple TV to your TV and play this video again." I'm connecting the Apple TV to a projector with a HDMI to VGA Kanex adapter. I've tried unplugging everything as most forums suggest and replugging everything in as well as resetting everything. No matter what this error always occurs, and its unfortunate because I'd like to be able to utilize all features of the Apple TV as well as using Netflix/Hulu/Disney + apps on the Apple TV directly. Is there any fix for this issue or work around that seems to work? I've tried everything and exhausted all options it seems.
