Can a song be sent in a text message?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you want to know if a song can be sent in a text message. I’ll be happy to help. 

You can share songs from the Music app on your iPhone to a message. The song itself won’t play in the Messages app but will open the Music or iTunes Store app up so they can view the song. Other music apps may share songs to messages as well. To share a song from Music, the three dots for more options and you should see the Share option there.
