system report software logs

Today I have run an Etrecheck pro report following what I thought was an Etrecheck update. However the update said it was for 5.4.7 and the report said v 6.1. It came up with nothing major (same as prev. reports) but then I went to finder and check executable and saw something about checking logs and went to About this mac > System Report > Software logs. There was a ton of stuff on there and the things that caught my eye were:

Dec 20, 2019 at 1:01:53 PM "EtreCheckPro[13819]: BUG in libdispatch client: kevent[mach_recv] monitored resource vanished before the source cancel handler was invoked".

Dec 20, 2019 at 6:26:46 AM accountsd[305]: notify name "SYDRemotePreferencesConfigurationDidChangeNotification" has been registered 20 times - this may be a leak".

Dec 20, 2019 at 6:26:46 AM accountsd[305]: notify name "SYDRemotePreferencesSourceDidChangeExternally" has been registered 20 times - this may be a leak

Dec 20, 2019 at 6:26:46 AM accountsd[305]: notify name "com.apple.syncdefaultsd.daemon.wake" has been registered 20 times - this may be a leak

as well as something referred to as " _DirtyJetsamMemoryLimit".

And the other is "com.apple.xpc, launched [1]:activated through legacy launch (3) APIs, please switch to XPC or bootstrap_check_in ():com.apple.quicklook".

So these things have me wondering if this abnormal, I don't know but it sure looks like it to me.

Good work, I think we found the problem under Cleanup...

Delete these files & restart...

 ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.google.keystone.agent.plist

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.CSConfigDotMacCert-***@***-SharedServices.Agent.plist

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.FolderActions.enabled.plist

All 3 are in your Home Library...

~ tilde indicates hidden Home Library.

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

1 From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.

2 In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

Method 2:

1 Go to the Finder (or desktop).

2 Hold the Option key on your keyboard, and click the Go menu at the top of the screen.

3 With the Go menu open, you'll notice that pressing and releasing Option will display or hide the Library choice in this menu.

4 Select Library from the Go menu (while holding down Option) to access the hidden folder.

Method 3:

1 Click anywhere on the desktop so Finder is the name of the foreground app shown at the upper left.

2 Press Command+Shift+H

3 With your home folder open, press Command+J. This the only place you'll see a check box to Show Library Folder. Turn it on.

Method 4: Press ⇧⌘. —the command-shift-period chord—to toggle the display of the hidden files, and the Library folder will then become visible in your home directory. And will become invisible, when you press that chord again.

From now on, your user account Library folder will be visible without having to use special keys or commands to get there.

Dec 21, 2019 10:09 AM in response to BDAqua

Hey, BDAqua, you've helped me before so I know you're a patient person. Yesterday I got called to watch my toddler grandchild and didn't get back to this till this morning.

I tried your suggestion, some things still show in safe mode and some different things after leaving that mode.

I'm not sure how much to post here, but some of the log in safe mode said:

"cfprefsd[147]: BUG in libdispatch client: kevent[mach_recv] monitored resource vanished before the source cancel handler was invoked" and

"Class MDSObjectToken is implemented in both /System/Library/"

After leaving safe mode:

suhelperd[429]: objc[429]: Class KeychainMasterHandler is implemented in both /usr/lib/libIASAuthReboot.dylib (letters and numbers, which I am not including but will if you need them) and /System/Library/CoreServices/Software Update.app/Contents/Resources/suhelperd (numbers and letters not included in this message). One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined."

"a com.apple.xpc.launched" and then "this service is defined to be constantly running and is inherently inefficient".

"the service IPC key is no longer respected, please remove it"

"The hideuntilcheckin is an architectural performance issue, please transition away from it"

"unknown key for integer:_DirtyJetsamMemory limit" x 2

"exited with abnormal codes"

"bug in libdispatch client"

"com.apple.xpc.launched [1]: endpoint has been activated through legacy launch (3) APIs. please switch to XPC or bootstrap_check_in ( ):com.apple.quicklook"

I apologize if this is normal and I'm bothering you for nothing. Just doesn't sound like nothing.

Also, I have run Mbytes twice and came up clean.

Thanks for helping.

I don't think I got the beginning of that report right. I'll try again.

Jan 17, 2020 6:25 AM in response to V.A.P.

I’m a little embarrassed that I only got back to it yesterday. The new year has been no less crazy than the last.

You are so kind to check back.

I found the files using your great instructions. I must not know how to delete them, though, because I can’t get rid of them. I keep getting on a loop of sign in to allow.

Dec 23, 2019 8:13 AM in response to BDAqua

I updated the Etrecheck and reran it.

I see it might take two different messages.

Thanks for your help, I'm afraid it's a mess and that I haven't deleted things correctly.

This granny is having trouble keeping up.
