I can't change music music files to mp3

When I press convert>MP3 it only tells me that protected files can't be converted. Any way to bypass this?

Good afternoon musicfileconversion,

I understand you are seeing a message that you can't convert protected files to MP3. Is this a song from your personal library? (Music from retail CDs you have imported into your library, or purchased downloads from the iTunes Store)? Or, are you working with a file that you downloaded from the Apple Music catalog with an Apple Music subscription? There is no way to bypass DRM protected music.

If you right-click (or Control-click) on a song, click "Get Info" and then click the File tab at the top of the screen, you will find all of the details.

For purchases you make in the future, you can change the format of the music to automatically download as MP3 files instead of AAC files. Here's how:

  1. In the menu bar at the top of the Music application click Music > Preferences > Files.
  2. In the "Import Using" field, choose MP3 Encoder. In the Setting field choose Higher Quality (192 kbps). Click OK

Convert a song to a different file format with the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows

Take care.
