"Your mac is restarted because of a problem.
The problem occurs every time I choose to switch off after upgrading to Catalina. Will there be an update to fix this? Does anybody know how to fix it?
MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

If you mean Switch Off using the power button then macOS will always treat that as an unexplained failure.
You are advised to shut down using the Apple menu, particularly if you have external drives which may not finalize on loss of power.
Use the power button only if the Mac freezes.

Most likely not as kernel panics are primarily caused by hardware faults and third-party kernel extensions.
Look in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports for a file whose name starts with "kernel"
If there is one, open it, copy the text, and paste the text into the Additional Text area, here (document icon).
Yap, had the same idea... I think you’re right actually.
Thanks. We'll see if Danielafromhamburg marks my reply as a solution too.
