Converting file info in Finder to Numbers spreadsheet

I've downloaded several hundred web pages from the Internet into a series of folders. I want to put the source URL and page title of each file in a Numbers spreadsheet. However, I made the mistake of renaming the files sequentially, like this:

con1.html

con2.html

con3.pdf

con4.webarchive

(Note that the extensions are usually, but not always, .html.)

To my surprise and delight, I discovered that when I click on a file's icon in Finder, it lists the date it was Created (which I assume is the date I downloaded it), Where from (URL), and Title. Awesome! This will make my job a hundred times easier.

But I wondered if I could go one step further and automate the process, rather than copy this information manually for each file.

From square one, let's say I have a folder filled with 1,000 files downloaded from the Internet. Is there some way I can import the names of each file into Numbers, along with the date it was downloaded (Created), the source URL and Title?

Thank you.

I recommend doing the following:

1) Open the folder (in the Finder) where all your files are

2) opening the application "Terminal" in the folder "/Applications/Utilities"

3) in the terminal type the command:

"cd<SPACE>" (replace "<SPACE>" with the space)

"cd "

then drag the icon at the top of the window where you files are

then type return. This will "Change Directory" for the terminal

4) now type the command (to list the directory contents):

"ls -al"

5) now select the listing just like you would any other text, copy

6) paste into Numbers and adjust the import settings
