Forgot Iphone password

Hi

i forgot my iPhone password.

i searched it up and it said to connect to a PC or mac and then log into iTunes and proceed from there.

unfortunately my iPhone was shut down. so when i connected to a PC it said that i have to unlock the phone to use accessories.

Anyone one know what to do?
