Activating iMessage on an iPod

Call Apple support and speak to a rep. I called and the appleid I was trying to use got blocked during set up and they unblocked it after verifying the security questions and now the ipod is working just fine! Yay! Good luck!

You can’t turn iMessage on/off it only shows to log back in. But when doing so it still comes up with an activation error?!
