No way to preview music before purchasing?

Grrr, Apple. Have you eliminated the ability to preview a song before purchasing it since there's no more iTunes?

Apple hasn't eliminated the ability to preview music. On a Mac with Catalina, open the Music app, click iTunes Store in the sidebar on the left, go to the song (Search is at the top of the sidebar on the left). For an individual song, hover the cursor over the song artwork and click the arrow; for an album hover over individual songs in the album and click or click Preview All at the bottom of the list of songs in the album.
