Can't remove credit card from Apple Pay

Removed the credit card from apple Pay via system preferences of a MacBook Pro (late 2019, 16") and the card is at first not shown anymore but reappears after a while. Same when I try to remove the card via iCloud.com. Own iCloud.com it always shows 'pending deletion'.

Even after completely reinstalling the system the credit card is automatically assigned again to the MacBook Pro.

For my other devices (iPhone 7 and MacBook Pro, 15", 2017) I could easily remove the credit card from apple pay.

Did you sign out of your Apple ID and back in on the device having the issue? you should know that the removed card will fall off eventually if you deleted it. there is no time frame for that to happen.

Well ok, thanks for letting me know.

It's strange though that this should take weeks and I find it of concern regarding privacy and security. The card is also registered automatically without consent after a complete reinstallation of macOS which I think shouldn't happen either.
