Apple Watch says its syncing and hasn’t completed

My iPhone is saying ‘Apple watch is syncing’ yet nothing is happening that I can tell. It’s been like this for over 3hours and I didn’t get a notification that it’s done. What do I do? Should I go ‘back’ and reset my watch to factory? Or leave it? But I need to unplug my phone in a few hours. Just not sure why it’s doing this. The watch was a little farther apart when started but it started at night while I was feeding the babies. Help on this would be great.
