Free Apple TV+ and multiple users

Currently Apple TV is set up using my Apple ID. We are going to be upgrading my husband's iPhone and will be getting the free year of Apple TV+. My question is - will we have to set up a new user with my husband's Apple ID to use the Apple TV+ service and if so, would it still be available when in my user account?
