How to draw on a photo in edit mode for new iOS on iPad?

The new iOS was updated in my iPad yesterday and now lots of formerly functional tasks aren’t available that I can see. I can’t find a way to edit photos by drawing on the photo with my finger— very useful for maps. Is this still possible without going to an outside app? Is there a good resource for comparing how the new iOS for iPad works relative to the old?

Launch the photos app. Select the photo that you want to draw on. Tap the Edit button in the upper right corner. Then tap the 3 dots at the top and you get the Markup option so that you can draw on the photo.
