Preemptive texts
Can anyone tell me how to disable preemptive text when typing on my MacBook.
Thanks in advance.

System Preferences > Keyboard > Text > Correct Spelling Automatically > de-select.
System Preferences > Keyboard > Text > Correct Spelling Automatically > de-select.
There are two ways to enable or disable predictive text entry: systemwide in System Preferences > Keyboard > Text, in addition to individual apps with their own settings.
Using Safari as an example, Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Correct Spelling Automatically.
For the applications that support it, deselect the following: Edit menu : Substitutions : Text Replacement
With that feature unchecked, none of your text replacmements defined in System Preferences : Keyboard : Text will be automaticallyt applied as you type.
Hi John
Unfortunately neither of the suggestions worked. When going through the first System Preferences I can find no way to turn predictive text off or on. The second in Safari I don’t want my spelling checked as I’m quite capable of checking my own grammar etc. but thanks for trying.
