Question

New Health App in iOS 13 no longer calculates BMI after entering weight.

Used to be able to tap on prior BMI reading, after entering new weight value, and the new BMI reading would appear in the field for manual entry of BMI value. Then would select "Add" and it would post the new BMI reading. Directions in new Health app indicate BMI needs to be entered manually or transferred to Health App from another, linked application. Automatic BMI calculation was a nice feature in the prior Health app under iOS 12.x. Is there still a way to auto calculate within the Health App?

It does appear BMI will need to be added manually within the Health app: Use the Health app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support and Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch - Apple Support. You can share feedback and suggestions on what you would like to see in the Health app in the future, here: Product Feedback - Apple.

Happy retiree,

Since there is no specific category for the Health app itself, I would just select iPhone. From there, you could consider this a 'Feature Request' under the Feedback Type, and be descriptive in the Comments section about the Health app on iOS. Then, you can select the iOS 13 version you are using, under the category that asks for your version of iOS. Keep in mind, you likely will not receive a personal reply back, after feedback is submitted.

Thank you for responding to my query. Prior to posting in the discussion group, I had visited "Product Feedback", however, there was no selection icon for feedback related to iOS13.x or the Health App in iOS or iPad OS. I will revisit the site again to see if I can find an appropriate category to submit a suggestion.
