Stocks App - One stock stopped updating

Vanguard Long-Term Bond Index Fund Investor Shares (VBLTX)

Nasdaq - Nasdaq Delayed Price. Currency in USD

At close: November 11 6:45PM EST

Is this an Apple problem or a Yahoo problem or a Vanguard problem?

Who is responsible to see to it that this information is up to date and correct?

It looks like Yahoo stopped updating their information that feeds this Apple Stocks App but it could be that Vanguard is not passing their information to Yahoo or would it be the NASDAQ?

It is a bit frustrating as all of the rest of the stocks I have in my watch list update daily and some more often. If anyone has information about how I can get someone somewhere out there in the internet to fix this, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.

I am hoping that Apple would contact Yahoo Finance and ask them to fix this information feed or that Apple would consider negotiating with the stock exchanges to get information directly from them instead of a 3rd party. Apple has much more weight and pull than I do as an individual. After all, you are a multi-billion dollar company who decided to do business with Yahoo Finance when you designed and developed your Stocks App and decided to import information from that source. If Apple would ask Yahoo Finance to fix their stock feed, I would really appreciate it or if Apple would change your Stocks App to import financial information directly from the NYSE, NASDAQ and other stock and bond exchanges around the world, I would appreciate that as well. I do not have a Yahoo id and do not plan to get one to report this problem because I have no need to do business with them. Frankly, I am surprised that they are even still around. Much like the rest of the DOT COM companies from the 1990s and AOL they have just about come and gone and been replaced by Google, Facebook and the other social media companies. If Apple does not want to provide more customer support for this issue, then so be it. I am optimistic and hopeful that your company will use the weight of your power to get this fixed. Little guys like me do not stand a chance with obscure companies I do not do business with directly. I hope you understand. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Hi there AppleCustomer9,

It’s great to have you in the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you have one stock in the Stocks app that isn’t updating. You’ve also researched this and found the same info on the Yahoo! Finance end of things. I’m happy to provide info about that.

The Stocks app pulls its data from the Yahoo! Finance data. This would have an impact on the values displayed in the Stocks app. If you continue to have troubles with the values in the application, I recommend that you reach out to Yahoo Finance for an updated time table for when the values should be fixed.

Wishing you the best!
