Quicktime screen recording keeps crashing with "cannot capture"

I have been trying to screen record on macOS Mojave (10.14.6) with Quicktime Player. I usually have three applications open including QuickTime during recording. It started crashing 20 minutes in, then 5, then 1. I really just need to record videos for my friends and macOS should be a stable operating system. Any help is appreciated!

I dont see a section for screen recording, I am on Mojave haha
