iMovie for 4k 2019 iMac:
I make a video with sound effects in iMovie (AND I EDITED IT), but when I watch it with quicktime I only see the raw video, no sound, no edits that I applied to it!! Please help!!
Edit: I ended up have the edits and the sound effects, but I had to click the share button, and mail the video to myself! Is there any way to do this easier?
Google is telling you that it has not yet upgraded its online uploader to keep pace with iMovie's updates. Meanwhile, the most reliable way to upload to You Tube is to share your movie to your desktop and from there drag it into You Tube's upload window.
As for why you can't share to 4k, it could be that you are trying to share a 4k 60 fps, clip whereas iMovie only supports 4k 30 fps. Also, it might be that you haven't set your project to 4k, that you must do to get a 4k export option. iMovie sets the frame rate and resolution of a project as that of the very first clip placed into a newly created project.

I have a 4K monitor, why am I not able to save it as 4K in a file? And also when I try to share it from youtube directly from iMovie, it tells me to sign in. Then this pops up:

You should be able to share to your desktop and play the movie with QuickTimePlayer (Version 10) with no issues. If that is not happening, and assuming you are using iMovie 10, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if you can export a file that will play O.K. in Quicktime.
It also could be an issue confined to just this one project. Try doing an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of the media in your project, and then Edit/Paste it into the timeline of a newly created project. See if that cures it.
