siri not working on apple tv 4k

Hello, I have a brand new Apple TV 4K, set it up today, everything is working, including audio to text dictation, however Siri simply will not work. There aren’t any error messages, even the Siri visual overlay with suggestions appears, and this happens regardless whether I use the Siri remote, or the Apple TV remote in control center on my iPhone 6s.

Any help would be appreciated.
