Will an Apple Watch bought in Qatar work in India?


I read a few posts about AW owners not being able to set up an Apple watch outside of the country of purchase. Wondering if that's the case even when the countries operate on the same frequency bands. I understand that an Apple watch bought in the US won't work in India because the frequency bands used in the two countries are different.


Specifically, I'd like to know if an Apple watch series 5 cellular bought in Qatar can be set up to be used in India just as a watch bought in India can be. I don't travel much and don't care for roaming.

iPhone Cellular Carriers that support the Apple Watch, which models, the radio frequencies each model uses, and the country where they offer service:

NOTE: not all features may work. Such as ECG, which requires government approval in the country where purchased And the country where used.

Also the warranty is not international, so you may need to return the Apple Watch to the country where purchased for warranty repairs.
