I can’t use my Apple ID balance

When I try to buy something it says I have to verify my billing information and takes me to my settings. My credit card is not on my Apple payment method as I am trying to use a gift card and when I tap the gift card and nothing happens. Does anybody know how to change this?

Apple ID - If you can‘t choose None when you edit your Apple ID payment information


If necessary, contact iTunes Support. Either use the form or scroll to the bottom of the page in the 2nd link. Follow through the screens to get a chat or telephone option.
