Update Apple ID settings

new Ipad mini - keep getting Verification Failed...error connecting to the Apple ID server? The password IS correct.

Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device


If necessary


Hard reset


Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.


Restore to Factory setting


Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup

Thank you for your thoughts.


So I tried resetting the device. I didn't try a hard reset ore restoring to factory settings. I did reset network settings & restarted my wifi modem.


I am setting up the new ipad - by restoring from an icloud backup (I think). I'm afraid of restoring to factory settings, because I don't want to wipe the old ipad or cloud backup.


I have no problem signing into the cloud or itunes on the old ipad or my pc - so I know it's not a wifi issue or password issue. It's clearly a NEW ipad issue.


I will try a different wifi network tomorrow ... any other ideas would be appreciated.
