Error occurred while loading content

I keep getting an error message - error occurred while loading content.

I have tried to reset, restart, unplug and plug in again, nothing seems to work. It happens for rented movies and movies purchased. One movie didn't play the movie but played the extras.

Any help, please!!!!?

The apple tv is probably 8 years old.
