Macbook Pro mid 2010 running 10.13.1 will not connect iPhone 11 (13.3) to iTunes (12.8.2.3)

I have been searching for hours trying to get my iPhone 11 to connect to my Macbook Pro. I have versions listed in the subject line of this search. I have gone into the folders under finder and typed in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/Current/Resour ces (without the space) and downloaded the mobile device update. The update will start and then stop because of a network issue? I have the internet running so I know there is no issue with my internet. Are there any other suggestions to try out?

iPhone 11, iOS 13

Reboot your router and your computer. Check for malware with a trial of https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/. It may also help to reinstall iTunes12.8.2.3.

In Finder use the menu item Go > Go to Folder..., copy the following text, paste it into the dialog box and press enter:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/Current/Resources

Unlock your device and connect it to USB. Double click on MobileDeviceUpdater in the folder that has opened. It should notify you of a software update. Install it and iTunes should hopefully recognize your device.
