Logic Pro X Crashing in Catalina (Brand New MacBook)

Hi all,

I recently purchased a brand new MacBook Pro [13" 8GB RAM i5, Catalina OS] to use with Logic, but I'm encountering a strange issue with crashing. This is actually my 3rd MacBook from Best Buy to encounter the problem (the first one was running Mojave, and still crashed).

There doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to when the crashes occur, but most frequently it is when I'm cycling through samples on Alchemy or Omnisphere. All of my programs are legit purchases, no cracks.

I'll leave the crash report at the bottom in case anyone wants to take a look.

Thank you!

It's not the Macbook and probably never was! This is from the Spectrasonics website.

"The latest versions of Omnisphere 2, Keyscape, Trilian and Stylus RMX are supported on the following Mac operating systems: 10.12 Sierra, 10.13 High Sierra and 10.14 Mojave. Older versions of our instruments are supported on the operating systems that they were designed and advertised to run on."

Catalina breaks a lot of software and causes considerable problems. Omnisphere is not supported in Catalina.

Thats what I would’ve thought if it weren’t for 3 things:

  1. There are also screenshots from the Spectrasonics website showing use on Catalina, the program is 64 bit, and the website also states there are no known issues with Catalina and their software
  2. The problem has also occurred using Alchemy (built in Logic synth)
  3. The first of the 3 MacBooks was running Mojave

I really appreciate the quick response.

Any other ideas?
