In that case you’ll need a Lightning to USB adapter: Lightning to USB Camera Adapter - Apple

and a USB to ethernet adapter: Apple USB Ethernet Adapter - Apple

You may need a powered USB hub between the usb adapter and the ethernet adapter if the ipad does not provide enough power to it.

Once everything is set up, you should get a new option in the Settings app below the Wifi option titled “Ethernet” where you can change the connection settings including IP address if the router does not automatically provide one.

Also, make sure you turn off wifi on the ipad before plugging everything in.
