What does the AirPod cord plug in to? I understand the lightning plug, but the other end is something I haven’t seen before

Thanks, it is the first USB C connector I have run across. We have iPhone 7, Mac computer, I watch 4, iPad Air, and all of them use the standard usb connector. I will go out and buy a charger that connects a usb C.
