Change instant transfer card

Why isn’t there an option to change the debit card you are sending an instant transfer to inside Apple Wallet? I am trying to add money to my Apple Wallet balance from one debit card and then transfer it to a different debit card instantly (one bank account to another) and I don’t care about paying a fee; I can’t change that debit card, so it basically only gives the option to transfer money back to the same card. I was able to remove the card I used to add money to Apple Wallet, leaving the other debit card there and instantly transfer to the card I wanted; it is just inconvenient to remove and then have to add back the same card to Apple wallet every time I want to make this transfer. I’m going to test out using my iPhone and iPad, one device not having the first debit card in the Apple wallet, and see if that’s a work-around as well. Any ideas or is this just a limitation?

I have wonder the exact same thing ever since I started using Apple Pay! I figured it out the other day tho and thought about this forum. I wanted to come back and share it with you so you don’t have to keep adding/deleting debit cards like I did!... after you add all your cards back to your wallet. Go through the motions of transferring from Apple Cash to your debit card. When you get ready to click on “instant transfer”, go ahead and select (yes, even if it’s not the desired card you wanna transfer to). After that, hit next. Then at the bottom, it’ll ask for your your password, fingerprint, or double click the side button, depending on the device, to confirm transfer... THIS IS WHERE YOU CHANGE THE INSTANT TRANSFER CARD!! I’ve noticed that whatever the last card you added to wallet, tht will be default on instant transfer. But once you get to this point, you select the the arrow beside your debit card and it should take to the list of all the cards in wallet, select which one you want to instant transfer. Select “back” and then confirm transfer. Done. No more add/delete. Hope this helps 😊

Aw. Yay! That makes me so happy to know it did help you guys out. I know I struggled with the concept for a while and when I figured it out I went looking and saw no one else knew. So I had to share!! As far as the transfer fee 🤷🏽‍♀️ Hey cost of convenience I guess. The 1-3 business day wait for the free transfer has never taken me 3 days btw. If I transfer early enough in the day. Maybe before 11am-12pm (idk the exact cutoff time) it will be in my account around 6 pm, same day. Otherwise, it’s in my account when I wake up next morning.

That solved the problem! I didn’t expect it to because you actually believe when you finally press “Transfer” that it’s a done deal and there’s no changing the default debit card you’re transferring the Apple Cash into, but it does let you change it before the side-button double-press to confirm! Thanks so much! Now if we could just get that $10 waived and this was a free service like Google Pay, that would be great.

Google Pay has THOUGHT that my debit card is a credit card, so I can’t send payments- and through 20+ live chats, emails and phone calls with their Google Pay Support to get them to change the label on their end to a DEBIT, they keep saying “this has been escalated and we’ll get back to you with an update in 24-48 hours” and this has been going for 2 months without any resolution. I even provided them an email from the bank confirming it is a debit card and Google Pay still hasn’t acknowledged the issue or provided any answers. HORRIBLE!!!!!
