lost but probably stolen airpods

why would the last location of my airpods not show up on “find my”? Actually, there is no sign of my airpods anywhere on “find my” even though i have used it to find them in the past?

if stolen, can someone reset them to where the the last location doesn’t show up?

Airpods do not have wifi or lte radios in them.

They do not connect to any network.

They have a short battery life and only connect to a device through bluetooth within about 60' of the device.

If they are powered off or out of the bluetooth range of the device, they will not show up in the find my app.

Last known location only displays in the find my app for a short period of time (24 hours?)

It is possible someone found and walked off with the airpods.

There is no way to know.
