I can't download el capitan until I download 10.11

I am trying to update to Mac OS X version higher than 10.10.5. I have tried El Capitan 10.11.1 but get an error saying I need 10.11 to update to anything higher. Where can I find 10.11?

iMac 27", OS X 10.10
