iPod syncing to iTunes

I have two different users on the same computer. They have their own iPods that I sync on the same computer, however they share the same AppleID, so all the downloads are identical. How do I achieve a customized sync with each of the two iPods? I don't want to affect either iPod with the downloads and playlists available to the other, vice versa.

See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support. Sync with selected playlists. Each device will remember its own selection of lists from the library.
