How to troubleshoot poor performance on MacBookPro?

Hi folks,

I'm having recurring performance issue with my MacookPro. And I'm not too sure how to troubleshoot this.

As you can see in the screen capture below, even writing text is an issue.

Computer is a MacBook PRO2018 with 32Gb of RA, 2,2Ghz i7.

Nothing special running in the background. I rebooted a few times and did the NVRA reset.

How should I proceed to troubleshoot this?!

Thanks for your help.

Please download and run Etrecheck  It is a diagnostic tool that's very useful to us in finding problems. Also it will give us further specs on your Mac. After it runs post the log file here. It will contain no personal information. Allowing full drive access will improve the quality of the report.

To post the log file click on share report and use the Additional Text icon in your reply window.

The computer usually works fine but from time to time it suddenly becomes slow and unresponsive. When I check in Activity Monitor there is no hanging process and no specific process is taking large part of the CPU.

So it's not clear to me how to troubleshoot this and find out what is causing the poor performance. I don't really have a repeatable scenario to reproduce the issue.
