MacBook Pro is shut down, but my battery keeps draining from 100% to 0% overnight.

For the third day in a row, my MacBook drains to 0% even though the laptop is shutdown completely. Is there potentially some sort of hardware fault which is causing this to happen? It's been fine for the past few months, but now, every day I open it to find it at 0%. It's the first time in a decade of MacBooks that i've personal experienced this issue.

Apple has responded to user complaints by doing some detailed analysis on the 13-in MacBook Pro 2019 model. The recommendations have been published in this article. We do not yet know whether these apply to others such as the 16-in model, but like chicken soup for a cold, "It can't hurt!"

That is for sure weird. Id suggest taking it into the Genius Bar at your local apple store and see if they can run some diagnostics on it! I just got my 16 inch 2 days ago and I am not having any comparable issues... I wish you the best of luck getting this issue resolved.

Hope this helps
