F Key's not working

If I'm understanding you right, you recently had the keyboard and battery replaced on your MacBook Pro and now the function keys are no longer working. I know how important those keys can be at times, so I'm happy to help you resolve this.

Try out the following steps and test your keyboard after each one.

1. Restart your Mac.
2. Update your Mac if you aren't running the most current macOS version available: How to update the software on your Mac.
3. Reset your SMC: How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac.
4. Test your keys while booted into safe mode: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. Restart your Mac again to exit safe mode, and test once more when you're back in your normal user account.
5. Reset NVRAM: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.
6. Test your Mac while logged into a new user account: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Does that mean unchecked?

Otherwise hold the fn key to use the special feature of each key.
