Why can I not select airdrop from the share menu?

airdrop is missing from my general settings in ios 17.1 Airdrop is no longer coming up when I try to share a photo. I tried going to settings > general > airdrop but that is missing as well. I tried searching airdrop under settings and nothing comes up. When I pull down from the top right corner and hold the network icon the Airdrop receiving button is off. Even if I click on it nothing happens. Any suggestions?

One reason could be that some countries ban the use of AirDrop. Yours may be one of them.

Otherwise, does your Mac meet the AirDrop requirements?
