How do you send audio to a reverb bus without increasing the overall volume?
Route these tracks to a bus instead of the Stereo Out. Insert the effect on the Aux that gets created automatically.
Thanks for all your help man I really appreciate it. Basically i'm trying to send a bunch of instruments to a plugin called RC-20 which adds color to the sound. It doesn't have a mix knob and I know similar plugins that don't have one either.
like instead of my track going to the bus and the stereo out. how do i get it to just go to the bus so the volume doesn't double? this seems like a very basic question

Well, first a compressor is usually used as an insert effect as opposed to a send effect until way later into your skill development and second, a compressor is 100% wet unless it has a mix control.
Set your reverb to output only wet signal, no dry signal and you will get no signal increase with reverb.
