uploading iPhone photos to google drive folder problem

I snap photos of receipts and upload them to a google folder. I create a new google folder every month. Using the photo upload icon in camera, i click on the google drive link, then my drive. It shows me a list of my google folders. However, it isn't updating to the most recent google folders, so i can't upload the new photos this way. The folder selection has stayed the same since 3 months ago when i first started keeping track of receipts this way.

I can upload them if i go to the google drive app, choose folder, and plus sign them into the folder, but it sure isn't as easy as using the upload icon in the actual camera app.

Does anyone know why the google drive icon doesn't seem to be actually communicating with google anymore and updating my folders? I have tried installing and uninstalling the icon onto the list of choices, but that didn't update the sync to google drive. I have turned phone off and on. No luck. I've checked my google drive and don't see anything there that could be keeping it from syncing.

Anyone know how to fix this glitch?
