I have about 7,000 pictures on my iPhone 7 and I am trying to open up some space on it. What is the best way to import these pictures onto an external hard drive? I have attempted to do this a number of times and it is giving me a hard time. Any help is appreciated.

The simplest thing would be to connect your iPhone via USB to your home computer. Your home computer will see your iPhone like a digital camera and you can then direct the photos to the hard drive on your computer.

Connect to your computer and move them and then from there move them to an external drive.
Perhaps 7K pictures at once is a lot. Maybe just choose albums individually to upload till you've got all photos up.
Thank you. I believe because there are so many pictures I have been having a hard time with even transferring them to my Mac. I also want to get them deleted from my phone while being transferred and it doesn't always remove them.
Thank you. I read somewhere to do it through Image Capture, but it works for awhile and then says, "your photo album suddenly closed" when it didn't?
You will have to delete them yourself and delete them from the Recently Deleted folder.
