Can’t delete favorites folder in safari

I’m trying to delete the favorites folder in my bookmarks, but when I press ‘edit’, the little red dot with a line through it doesn’t show up, and when I hold it there's no delete option.

Have you removed all the Bookmarks from the Favorites folder?
