I am loving paying for things using my apple pay with my XR.
However, once I place the device against the contactless thing, it asks me to double click the side and then show my face. These movements are akward and the angle of most readers are in a different plane than my face.
Is there anyway to disable the face or double click side button or both.

You can change it to use a passcode instead of Face ID. However, the best to do is pull out your phone, double click the side button to initiate Apple Pay and Face ID, then place it on the contactless area. You don't need to place it on the contactless area first.
Double-click the side button to open Apple Pay and let your Face ID work before you try to place against the contactless "thing". It makes it much easier.
Thank you, I will give this a shot. This should solve my issue. When I ride the subways here in NYC now, I just touch the subway entrance with my phone and the payment is accepted. There is no side button or facial recognition. I was hoping there was a way to set all of my payments this way. Until then, this is very helpful. Thank you.

I'm guessing the way that the subway card reacts is different than a credit card. Seems that it is more of a convenience factor when using those cards to have it in the iPhone Wallet. But believe me, when using the credit cards that require Face ID, it is much easier to have the pre-payment open the card and Face ID done before you are ready to do it. Works so much easier.
