Can I put 2 separate photos as my screen saver from iPhoto on my iMac?

You'll have to join them together in a 3rd party image editor like GraphicConvertor or with Pages (save as a PDF and then convert to jpeg).

Do you mean both at the same time or using them alternately?

I mean like a split screen with one picture on one side, and a different picture on the other side.

With Pages do a print to PDF and convert to jpeg with Preview.
