New Apple Watch and force update

I just got an Apple Watch series 4 and I am trying to set it up.

it paired with my phone just fine but won’t let me continue my setup without updating my watch. Which is fine... but it says it can take 2 days to update?...

mu phone is updated. My watch is 100% charged... I just want to use my new watch

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 13

This often happens at the start of the update,it usually starts dropping after a little while,as an example my last watch update said 15 hours but in actual fact took just 1 hour.If for some reason your time doesn't start coming down then it's a sign that something is stopping the update.
